One who knows him closely calls him “A Human Shiva.” The name given to him relates more once you talk to him and know him; he is more like a visionary, spiritually blessed, both a good speaker and listener, caring soul, and inspiring leader. Shiva Hari Bajagain, the team leader at Sabbatical Explore Nepal, has an exciting story working in Nepal’s tourism industry. 

Born in the rural village of Kaverplanchowk, Shiva had never thought of ending up in Nepal’s tourism industry. But destiny and perseverance made him do so. Moving to the urban hood of Kathmandu, Shiva landed up an entry-level job in the hustle and bustle of Thamel. That was the turning point of his life from where he met people across the world who motivated and influenced him to take a journey of tourism. Ever since 1997, he is playing his part in developing tourism in Nepal from his side. All of the experiences led him to start a community-based travel and tour company in 2012, the birth of Sabbatical Explore Nepal.

Through his visionary thinking, he was able to see the dots of the communities of Nepal and connected those with tourism. And the conjunction became the mean for Shiva to meet, know, and serve people around the globe. Meeting new people and understanding their wisdom, sharing life’s journeys and learnings are now daily things for him. And he wishes to do the same till he turns old and grey-haired.
