Just like you to this page, destiny led us here. We, Sabbatical Explore Nepal, have a fascinating tale on how we ended in the tourism niche. The story goes like this.
A globetrotter from a different country reaches Nepal to explore its natural and cultural gems. While exploring the country, he meets a home-grown guy at a coffee shop who was already in the tourism sea here in the busy streets of Thamel. It was the meet of two passionate individuals who were destined to do something special in tourism.
Slowly, their bond got stronger with every meet, again and again. That connection got so firm that they jointly envisioned a vision to connect the world with the vibrant social-based tourism of Nepal. Utterly the initial and ultimate idea was to take and give back to the societies of Nepal via tourism activities in those communities.
And, thankfully, in the year 2012, they formed a company named “Social Tourism Nepal,” our sister company, to achieve that vision. “ The main idea behind Social Tourism Nepal(STN) was to deliver diverse and raw social experiences of Nepalese societies to the world.
They introduced never-in-Nepal social tourism programs like volunteering, internships, gap year plans, community visits, and community programs related to various burning issues like Education, Health & Hygiene, Women Empowerment, etc. You can check what our team does at Social Tourism Nepal here.
The first project become an enormous success right from the start; all credit goes to the valuable network of our founders. Over the years, STN has touched many people around the world by giving the best experiences. Social tourists across the globe have been getting possibilities to help the locals of Nepal via Social Tourism. And the team has a strong network in Europe, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and other parts.
The people’s count connecting with STN got as big as Mt Everest’s height. And that gave us the courage to start another adventure, i.e., Sabbatical Explore Nepal.

I had an amazing experience with Sabbatical Explore Nepal when I visited Nepal during my Gap year 2018. Our guide and driver were so experienced and helpful. I remember seeing many animals like tigers, deers, rhinos during Jungle Safari in Chitwan. I even went to the Elephant Breeding Centre and that was amazing. In Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha I visited Maya Devi Temple and other monasteries. I was mesmerized by the architectural designs of the Temples and Monasteries built by different countries. I was a little sad that I couldn't visit other amazing places but the 6 days I spent in Nepal were very meaningful and memorable. I am looking forward to my next trip to Nepal.

We have just finished the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Sabbatical Explore Nepal. Our guide Shiva and Samir were excellent, very friendly young men with good English. The looked after us very well, staying with us and supporting us as we trekked, and making sure our meals and accommodation were sorted each day. Shiva and Samir were very knowledgeable about the mountains, the areas we visited and Nepal in general. It was lovely to share stories with them, and I’m sure they will make excellent guides as well.

I did Everest Base Camp Trek! I don't think I have words to explain all the experiences of the trek. But I am thankful to Shiva for managing a great guide for my trek. I knew the trek is beautiful but not entirely. All the prayer flags, busy farm fields, like traditional hamlets, and yes giant peaks, these all are running through my mind while writing this.
